Dive deep into advanced techniques such as outline optimisation, component management, interpolation, hinting, kerning strategies, and using project files to streamline your type production process.
This workshop is open to engaging conversation and questions specific to your workflow. It is ideal for designers with prior experience in font design who want to refine their process and for advanced users ready to unlock the full potential of Glyphs App.
Day 1:
Outline optimization and harmonization: potential issues, finding and solving them
Making interpolation work: avoiding shapeshifting, unwanted distortions and kinks
What you need to know about PS and TT autohinting: better screen display for Adobe and Windows applications
Day 2:
Reusing shapes: step up your component game
Project files, custom parameters and tokens: streamlining your production
Automating kerning: bumping, optical kerning, overkerns and KernOn
