Typoclass, the amazing 2-week type design workshop in the Bulgarian countryside, is taking place again this year. Join renown Veronika Burian and Glyphs crack Rainer Scheichelbauer for this unique combination of retreat and type.

Participants receive an extended trial license and can purchase their own full license at a discount.

Typoclass 2019

  • July 29: Arrival in Bozhentsi
  • July 30 – August 3, 10:00–20:00 hrs: Introduction to typeface design
  • August 4, Gabrobo and Veliko Tarnovo region: Day off and sightseeing
  • August 5–9, 10:00–20:00 hrs: Glyphs App in depth
  • August 10: Departure

Week 1: Veronika will provide a basic methodology and theoretical knowledge about typeface design techniques and best practices used by the designers in Typetogether to make their bestselling typefaces.

Week 2: From digitising throughout family design with multiple masters and variable fonts, Rainer will reveal the secrets of the Glyphs App.

Accomodation: The participants can be accommodated in different hotels and guest houses in Bozhentsi. After receiving your request, we can discuss the accommodation options.

Meals: Participants usually eat together in a restaurant with three meals a day. The menu will be negotiated a few days ahead and vegetarians will have an alternative.
