Frederic W. Goudy Award for the makers of Glyphs
6 February 2026
Rochester Institute of Technology will bestow the 2026 Frederic W. Goudy Award on Glyphs.app makers Georg Seifert and Rainer Scheichelbauer
We are humbled, deeply honored, and very grateful to receive the prestigious RIT Frederic W. Goudy Award, and to furthermore be counted among our typographic heroes, such as Matthew Carter, Kris Holmes, Chuck Bigelow, Adrian Frutiger, Gudrun and Hermann Zapf, Robert Bringhurst, Edward Catich, Walter Tracy, and Robert Slimbach.
Steve Matteson, Melbert B. Cary Distinguished Professor of Graphic Design at RIT, wrote:
Your continued work to improve the future of type design for all writing systems, your support for the global typographic community, and your innovations in coding for type design workflow deserve this historic recognition.

For this occasion, on 10 and 11 April, we will be at RIT in Rochester, New York, not only for a reception and gathering of students and notables from the industry, but also for a lecture and a workshop on campus. Stop by and say hello if you (a) have, like us, lost your heart to typography, and (b) find yourself in the vicinity.
For us, this award is a wonderful confirmation of our commitment to serving the global typographic community. We therefore want to express our heartfelt thanks to our users and to the many individuals across the globe who have chosen to walk part of the way with us.
Thank you,
Georg Seifert & Rainer Scheichelbauer
