Glyphs Pro Day: Advanced Workshop

Reuse shapes efficiently, understand interpolation and produce Variable Fonts.

Learn how to produce a large font family:

  • draw shapes efficiently: an update on harmonisation
  • manage compounds
  • use corner components for serifs
  • interpolate shapes with multiple masters
  • create multiple axes
  • manage masters and instances: find good instance distributions
  • maintain glyph compatibility
  • export your interpolation as static and variable fonts
  • find and install useful app extensions

Glyphs Magic Day: Introduction to Type Design

Full day workshop
9.30–17.30 with breaks

Make your own fonts with the Glyphs font editor! You will create two fonts of your own and have a lot of fun getting to know the software. Learn how to:

  • create a variable font from scratch
  • animate your font in a web browser
  • digitise your own handwriting
  • efficiently reuse shapes with components
  • put your own selfie into your font
  • put a color symbol into your font
  • produce font variations by applying effect filters
  • find and install useful app extensions
  • test your font in Adobe apps and web browsers
