Advanced Glyphs Workshops at READSEARCH
For type designers of all levels: get up to par with the latest tech in two intensive Glyphs workshop days, powered by READSEARCH institute.
Participants receive an extended trial license and can purchase their own full license at a discount.
COVID-19 measures: participants must present proof that they either fully vaccinated or recovered within the past six months. All presenters are fully vaccinated.
Workshop Day 1: A more convenient way of designing
Day 1. A more convenient way of designing:
- Advanced shaping techniques: smart components, corner components, serif components
- Advanced diacritics: multiple anchors, narrow marks
- Advanced workflow: plug-ins, scripts, automation and batch editing

Workshop Day 2: Interpolation and Variable Fonts
Day 2. Interpolation and Variable Fonts:
- Produce a large font family by interpolating between multiple masters.
- Set up axes, masters, instances; managing outline compatibility, finding and avoiding potential interpolation issues (kinks, shapeshifters).
- Set up and export variable fonts.
- Animate your variable font in HTML/CSS.
